As a specialized form of pharmaceutical packaging, veterinary syringes are increasingly favored by animal health companies due to their superior sealing performance and ease of use. Comprising components such as a barrel, plunger, piston, protective cap, and positioning ring, these syringes typically utilize one of two filling methods based on the production line setup: front filling and rear filling.
1. Front Filling Method
In front filling, the medication is introduced through the syringe’s tip. During the filling process, the plunger is initially positioned towards the front of the barrel. As the medication is injected, internal pressure gradually pushes the plunger backward toward the barrel’s tail end until filling is complete. This method is ideal for production lines designed for front-end filling operations, ensuring precise medication dosage, secure sealing, and high production efficiency.

2. Rear Filling Method
In rear filling, the medication is introduced through the syringe’s tail end. At the start, the protective cap is already in place, and the plunger is fully extended. Once the medication is injected, the plunger is pushed into its final position, sealing the syringe. This method is better suited for filling machines that operate from the rear, effectively preventing contamination and ensuring product stability and safety.
When selecting the appropriate filling method, pharmaceutical manufacturers must consider their production line setup and filling equipment compatibility to optimize efficiency and product quality. Close collaboration with packaging suppliers is also essential, as pre-assembled packaging solutions can streamline production processes.
